Brad Pitt has spoken publicly for the first time about his divorce from Angelina Jolie, describing the conclusion of their eight-year legal battle as “not that major of a thing.” In a recent interview with GQ, the actor characterized the settlement finalized in December 2024 as merely a legal formality, stating, “Just something coming to fruition. Legally.”

The high-profile couple, who share six children, separated in 2016 following allegations of a physical altercation on a private flight—a claim Pitt has denied. While the FBI and child services investigated the incident, no charges were filed.

Pitt, now 61, expressed a sense of stability in his personal life, attributing it to his relationship with jewelry executive Ines de Ramon, 32. The couple has been together since 2022, and Pitt credits de Ramon with bringing a calming presence to his life.

Angelina Jolie, 49, has maintained a more reserved public stance. Her legal team described her as “exhausted but relieved” following the settlement, emphasizing that the divorce’s conclusion is just one part of a longer journey toward healing.

As Pitt prepares for the release of his upcoming film F1, he reflects on the persistent media attention surrounding his personal life, describing it as a “nagging time suck” but noting that he now feels “pretty warm and secure” with his friends, family, and self-awareness.

The divorce settlement, reportedly involving $80 million in post-divorce earnings for Jolie, including her share of their co-owned French winery and a Winston Churchill painting, marks the end of one of Hollywood’s most publicized breakups.
